4.1. Registering a device through ‘Wizard’ menu

Administrator may register digital video device(s) (DVR, IP video server, and network camera) in the program

by going through the entire process step by step in the ‘Wizard’ menu.

The ‘Wizard’ menu includes both the device registration and site configuration steps. Once the entire process is

done, a device appears in a site tree on the program.

4.1.1. Registration process

1. Select [Setup] – [Wizard] – [Device] menu.

2. Enter values and click ‘Next button. The items in bold such as device name, model name, firmware

version, connection type, IP address, port number, user ID and password are mandatory information

to enter.

Item Description

Name Name the device to display in this program

Model Select a model name of the device to register

Firmware Select a proper firmware version of the device

Cameras Program displays the number of supporting channels of the device

Connection Type

Select the connection type to device over network

(a)Static IP Address, (b)Dynamic IP Address-MAC, (c) Dynamic IP

Address-DDNS, (d)Domain Name

Domain Name

Enter IP address or domain name of the device

(a)Static IP Address: Enter IP address

(b)Dynamic IP Address-MAC: Enter MAC address of ‘MAC address’ item

(c)Dynamic IP Address-DDNS: Enter Server address of ‘Server address’

item and User ID of ‘User ID’.

(d)Domain Name: Enter domain name

Port Enter the port number of the device

User ID Enter user ID which is used to access the device over network

Password Enter password that goes with the user ID

Confirm Password Re-enter the password to confirm

3. Select a site to register the device and click ‘Next’ button.
